Peter Vollmer (native was Fullmer), an immigrant from Germany, had a son named Wilhem, and Wilhem, had a son named William, who had a daughter named Virginia Mary Vollmer who married Clarence Briesacher in 1941. Virginia and Clarence lived on the Brieacher Farm (before the Hayes surname was added). It was their grandson, Michael Hayes that then added the Hayes surname to the Briesacher-Hayes Farm.
The Vollmers beginning is in Roachtown, St. Clair County, IL. The house that they lived in is still standing as of 2007. It is located at 623 Roachtown Road. Tour our Google Earth tour to view the old Vollmer homestead.
